Writing Music As Expressive Therapy

This violin is like no other you have ever seen or played before. I fell in love with it the moment I heard it being played by an excellent musician named Edward Howe, who incorporated it with a Boss Loop Station into his live set. Having fallen in love with it, I was rather surprised when I first played one that it felt uncomfortable and strange to hold. So what was the problem?

Aaaaahhh!!!! More wedding! More vampy bump! New scenes! One month!
CAN'T WAIT!!!!
We're very excited to share with you a brand-new TV spot for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. (above)

WOW! Those girls had a GOOD NIGHT!

Last Wednesday night, if you were taking your clothes off at the Kings of Diamonds strip club in Miami, you went home with a cool $5K in your pocket. According to reports, Chris Brown and Bow Wow were in da club last week and they were so happy with the, um, service, that they tipped their ladies handsomely!

Breezy and Bow gave SEVERAL ladies working the poles $5,000 EACH for entertaining them. They also apparently threw down a lot of $$$ for booze for entourage and rained singles down for HOURS.

Nice to know these guys aren't facing any finical hardships in these uncertain economic times.

Kate Pippa Middleton E! True Hollywood Story Airing This Week

E! True Hollywood Story is set to feature Kate and Pippa Middleton this Wednesday. Mark your calendars my friends this story is going to be a doozy and I mean that in a good way. Kate married a prince and Pippa pretty much stole the spotlight from her sister on her big day but what else is there to know about these two headline making siblings? Well evidently E! thinks quite a lot because the Middleton girls will be the subject of their very own E! True Hollywood story airing this Wednesday October 12th. I tell you what I am setting my DVR as we speak and I don’t even care if they only reveal info that I already know. Clearly these two were already famous but seriously you know you’ve made it when you are the subject of E’s hit show, even if you had no intentions of ever making it, so to speak. What I mean is neither lady may have set out to be famous but they are two people the world just can’t get enough of. So what can viewers expect to see on Wednesday’s show? Well their upbringing of course, their sibling bond if you [...]

Very different than Once Upon A Time ... then again, not so much.

Sean Hayes has put together yet another network TV Show that he is hoping will take flight this fall.

Check out a sneak peek of the new fantasy-crime series Grimm (above)!

Inneresting twist to things. Good to know there are more than 200 Grimm fairytales for the show to work with, though. How many times can you tell the Little Red Riding Hood story!

Eight Things You Must Know Before Having Your Video Translated

I'm sure there are the 'set in their ways' types out there that want their paperbacks and hardcopy horror books and that all...speak no more about it! That the build up of dread, anxiety and frights aren't the same without tapping their finger to their tongue and turning a page. To these people I say, give ebook formats a chance.

Kanye West Sufaces At The Occupy Wall Street Protests

Last week we saw a photo of Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley participating in the Occupy Wall Street protest going on in NYC, NY and today we learn that another big name celeb was spotted at the protest this weekend. None other than rapper Kanye West himself was spotted in the midst of the protestors [...]

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty sweet day, I have to say. Darion’s mom Janai was visiting just for the afternoon so I got meet up with the both of them in Santa Monica, CA for some of her stay. We had a great hang session over crepes, then we did a little walking, then we did a little shopping … and of course, we did a little photo taking ;) Check out our fun below.

I honestly love Janai very much. She is family to me, so it was a pleasure getting to spend what little time I could with her yesterday. She is such a beautiful spirit … like, a living embodiment of love. I also really appreciate that Darion doesn’t mind sharing her with me ;) OH and I have to explain the third photo … it’s not really me, you see, it’s actually the new James Bond villain Dr. Wynter FOXXX … and yes, before anyone asks, it’s totally faux.

Tonight, David and I are seeing the AMAZING Ryan Adams live in concert at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. He only announced tonight’s show last week and it sold out in minutes. David and I are VERY excited because Ryan means very much to us … he sings our song, after all :) It should be a great night. Happy Columbus Day!! Happy Monday!!

Gwen Stefani Gives Kingston James McGregor A Stern Talking To

This weekend mom Gwen Stefani took her young sons Kingston James McGregor and Zuma Nesta Rock for a family fun day at the aquarium in London, England but she had to pause to have a moment with her oldest (and, it would seem, headstrong) son Kingston. Before the family went into the aquarium, Gwen had [...]

Last night David and I were invited to Jane’s House in Hollywood to help our good friend Johnny Lopez celebrate his 40th birthday! Johnny went all out for the affair with a live band AND a DJ, delicious food and signature drinks. Johnny‘s mom and sister flew in for the party and we all had the BEST time ever! I snapped some photos from last night’s fun … check ‘em out below.

I know, it’s INSANE … Johnny does not look 40 … homie looks 20 … and acts 15 ;) It was so nice to celebrate with him and his family/friends. We were able to run into a bunch of folks who we hadn’t seen in ages. Johnny knows how to throw a great party … we had a blast. Altho Johnny’s actual birthday was last week, please join me in sending all our Birthday Lurve to him today :D

This afternoon, I’m meeting up with Darion in Santa Monica because his mom is visiting for the day. I don’t know what the rest of the day will hold but … I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic Sunday. Happy Weekend, folks!!

The Simpsons Reaches Deal for Two More Seasons

Making for quite the welcome news to the show's legions of fans, "The Simpsons” will be coming back for at least two more laughter-laden seasons.

The animated classic, which started its long-running tenure back in 1989, has come to terms with Fox after differences between the voice cast and studio almost brought the family favorite to a screeching halt.

According to a network statement made on Friday night (October 7), Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa will continue their antics for a 24th and 25th season in what will bring the total number of episodes up to 559.

While no other details were provided, viewers can look forward to watching the landmark 500th episode when it airs on February 19, 2012.

Leave it to our Mother Monster to make this all her own!

Lady GaGa is set to make an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, and of course, decided to use the opportunity to turn the set into a farm so it would match the theme of her new single, You and I!

During the segment, while seated on a bale of hay, she also opened up about her infamous meat dress, what she does on her downtime, and her role as godmother to Elton John's new baby, Zachary!

Here are some HIGHlights:

You and I:

“It’s (the song) about a love affair with a man from Nebraska. It’s all about going back to his home town and in the video there is a beautiful scene in a barn."

Where her meat dress lives:

“It’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (in New York).”

Constantly being on the road:

“I really need to be on the road. I get really crazy when I’m not. I just love to perform. When you’re passionate about something you just have to do it. I feel sort of irrelevant doing other things. I’ll die without the spotlight.”

And when she's not...

“I drink a lot.”

If she's in a relationship:

“You know I don’t talk about my love life, but I’m very happy. I’m happy.”

On her godson, Zachary:

“Zachary’s so beautiful. I gave him a bath the other day. It’s so very sweet because you’re giving him a bath and he’s the most beautiful boy ever. It’s so funny because we have this sweet little boat for pouring water to rise soap off Zachary, and as I’m pouring it, Elton is singing Tiny Dancer and I’m thinking, ‘this kid has no clue that his father is such a legend. I could not see a happier family than I see in them.”

On the possibility of her having children eventually:

“No. I’m a maternal person but I’m not feeling the urge to be pregnant. Some day I will, but not now. Oh my gosh, the fans would kill me. I’m just not ready. I really want to make at least ten more albums before I do something like that.”

Phew!

Mother Monster may want to be an actual mother at some point, but we're glad that she's taking the time now to focus on making more music!

We don't know what we'd do without her!

Can't wait to see the interview in its entirety, gurl!

How To Hold A Music Festival

The story of Rock & Roll is being told in print and movies from the point of view of people who are anomalies, not the common story. With the exception of The Beatles who were always Rock fans first and foremost, most of the other stories are about people who only became rockers because the Beatles made it profitable.

Cher Is NOT Happy With DWTS Judge Bruno Tonioli

So much drama with those DWTS judges lately!
Last night, Chaz Bono and Lacey Shwimmer performed a Phantom-inspired tango on Dancing with the Stars (above), which unfortunately did not impress the judges, ESPECIALLY Bruno Tonioli.

Arts and Entertainment from EzineArticles.com

Yes, there are indeed far too many smart phones running amok these days, and I really do hate to be jumping up onto the Apple bandwagon (it's a cart, really), but I have to say that Apple's iPhone 4 is by far the best product out at the moment. I've tried a few of the Android models but the quality varies so much from model to model that you don't really know what you're getting.

An iPhone for an Eye

Getting some good finance certifications is without a doubt very much recommended if you want to pursue a career as a stock broker or a financial analyst for a big company. Being a stock broker or a financial advisor can really be achieved by anyone who graduates with a degree in economy but being successful in these professions requires much more than that nowadays as there are some finance related certifications that you would need to get to be able to increase your salary base and get you to a higher level in the financial world, or at least inside your company structure.

Steve Jobs: Movie Stars, Filmmakers React To His Death

Steve Jobs, who died at 56 on Wednesday (October 5), was not just the visionary behind Apple and its groundbreaking technology, but also a leading force at Pixar, the Oscar-winning animation studio responsible for films like "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo," "Up" and more. His contributions to movies, both in terms of story and the way [...]

There's something about the subject of gangsters that never gets old. Particularly the Hollywood variety, as depicted in films like "The Departed," "Get Shorty," "Snatch," "Donnie Brasco," HBO's "The Sopranos," and of course "The Godfather." They're all so cool, slick, watchable. It's that iconic allure that had us excited for Ruben Fleischer's next flick, "Gangster Squad," the moment it was announced.

The film is based on the L.A. Times' seven-part series, "Tales From The Gangster Squad," by writer Paul Lieberman, which revolved around the LAPD's war on infamous mobster Mickey Cohen. Heavy-hitter Sean Penn will play Cohen, and Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling will play two of the cops who try to bring him down, and always likable Emma Stone is in the mix as a sassy "siren" caught in a love triangle with Gosling's character and one of the gangsters.

Another familiar face in the cast is Anthony Mackie, who couldn't tell us much about his role in the film, but promised we won't be disappointed. We asked Mackie for his thoughts on Gosling's big year, as well as what might play out between the two actors onscreen.

"Ryan has been a friend of mine for a long time, since 'Half Nelson,' I’m glad he’s finally in a position where he’s getting his just due because he is really one of the most talented actors of his generation," Mackie told us at the "Real Steel" premiere. "'Gangster Squad' is just a bunch of great guys. Ruben is a great director and the story is kind of funky and it’s a part of LA history that a lot of people don’t know. It’s going to be a cool movie."

Are you ready to see "Gangster Squad?" Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!

Starting Out: 7 Things to Consider Before Taking Up the Piano

Song writing is a craft beset with cliches. Whether this is due to the fact that the English language isn't quite as suited to rhyming as others (although, anyone whose seen the Eurovision song contest might have something to say about the musical suitability of a whole host of tongues), or if it's just because people are lazy is the matter of much debate. Either way, hearing lines like "baby, I need you/ you make me fly/ so high/ in the sky" gets extremely tedious. On the other hand, when wordsmiths over step themselves in the search for originality, the results can be equally disastrous and wonderful.
