Some details on fair trade

Fair trade has gained some media coverage during recent times because many politicians are using it as a political tool. Increasingly the public is becoming more and more interested with fair trade issues and are willing to participate even if this causes them to lose money. Primarily fair trade is a way to compensate producers in least developed countries for their work in an adequate manner. Fair trade has in fact demonstrated that our well acclaimed market economy is not that efficient and we need to look for other ways to ensure sustainable development. Fair trade has been well accepted by the public. This is why we are witnessing a mushrooming of fair trade commerce around the world and on the net. French people can check out ‘commerce équitable Lyon’ for fair trade products. See also: Demenager les territoires
